چکیده

Abstract New mineralogical, geochemical, and geochronological data are presented for the Island Dam prospect, Olympic Cu-Au Province, South Australia. Skarn assemblages comprising actinolite/phlogopite + K-feldspar magnetite suggest presence of calcareous protoliths at indicate high-temperature alkali-calcic alteration in early stages IOCG mineralization, as seen other deposits region. Dating lamellar hematite intergrown with Cu-Fe-sulfides allows timing alteration-mineralization event to be constrained 1594 ± 28 Ma, contemporaneous ~ 1.59 Ga mineralization recorded across eastern Gawler Craton. The host metasedimentary sequence can correlated Wallaroo Group based on lithology fabrics, stratigraphically by an underlying 1850 Ma Donington Suite granite new U–Pb ages superimposed mineralization. Oscillatory zoned silician skarn displays a trace element signature comparable that observed outer shell deposit nearby Wirrda Well prospect is consistent geochemical signatures from banded Fe-rich rocks share common enrichment W, Sn, Mo, Th, U IOCG-style Relative As, Sb, Ni, Co is, however, specific iron-oxides rocks. These features attributed pre-existing iron-rich lithologies.

Indium Mineralization in a Sn-Poor Skarn Deposit: A Case Study of the Qibaoshan Deposit, South China

Indium (In) is commonly hosted in Sn-rich deposits but rarely reported in Sn-poor deposits. However, an In-rich and Sn-poor skarn deposit, the Qibaoshan Cu-Zn-Pb deposit, has been identified in south China. Geochemical analyses were undertaken on 23 samples representing the following mineral assemblages: sphalerite-pyrite, pyrite-chalcopyrite, pyrite-sphalerite-galena-chalcopyrite, pyrite, magn...

Archaean–Proterozoic transition: geochemistry, provenance and tectonic setting of metasedimentary rocks in central Fennoscandian Shield, Finland

The central part of the Fennoscandian Shield in Finland is composed of the Palaeoproterozoic Svecofennian domain and the Archaean Karelian craton with a Palaeoproterozoic allochthonous and autochthonous cover. A cryptic suture separating these areas and another tentative suture dividing the Svecofennian into central and southern parts have been proposed. The chemical composition of sedimentary ...

Sequence stratigraphy and evolution of a basin-slope succession: The Late Proterozoic Wonoka Formation, Flinders Ranges, South Australia

A shelf to basin-slope transition is vertically and laterally exposed within the Late Proterozoic Wonoka Formation in the northern Flinders Ranges of South Australia. The shelf to basin-slope transition can be divided into four units (C to F) which are defined on the basis of facies, sedimentary structures, contacts, stratal geometry, and the type and abundance of down-slope mass movement. The ...
